Iris Black Gaemcock will thrive in a sunny position or part shade, grown as a bog plant, it prefers moist soil and will do well near a pond or in shallow water. Iris is easy to grow and is  great porformer. Will attract hummingbirds into the garden. Iris also make a great cut flower. Please note this plant is toxic to pets and horses. To prevent overcrowding and maintain robust blooms, divide clumps every 2 to 3 years. The best time to dig up and separate the rhizomes is in late summer to early autumn.
