Bushy flowering shrub /  Tree - Edible flowers & berries - Grows super fast. 

 

Also known as European Elder, or Black Elderberry Tree.  Can be grown as an ornamental bushy shrub, tree  or hedge that will reach 6 meteres tall.  This super fast growing plant displays creamy white fragrant flowers in the summer followed by dark berries in the autum. Both the flowers and the berries have a long tradition of culinary use, primarily for cordinal and wine.The plant is commonly used in dietary supplements and traditional medicine. However you should not eat the berries raw. Elderberry is an easy plant to grow and will tolorate most soil types, ideally in full sun or part shade.  Sambucus Nigra can also be grown as a hedge as well as an ornemtal plant. This plant will attract wildife into your garden and offers a place to nest and food for birds. Please note this plant is toxic to pets.
