Ceanthus is a gorgeous ornamental evergreen plant, that can grow as a shrub, small tree or as a flowering hedging plant.  It produces sweetly scented blue ball flowers in early summer. Will attract birds and bees into the garden, and can reach 150 cm tall and 300 cm wide. Ceanothus standard Californian lilac has received the Royal Horticultural Society Gold Merit Award meaning it is a reliable plant and resistant dot disease. Californian lilac will look great in a woodland, cottage and formal themed garden.
