Frost hardy evergreen shrub - Tropical style garden plant - Grows well in sun or shade
Also known as Japanese arolia, false caster oil and fatsi. Native to southern Japan and Taiwan. Fatsia Japonica is an evergreen shrub with large leathery, palmately lobed leaves. It produces small creamy-white flowers in dense terminal compound umbels in late autumn or early winter, followed by small black fruit. Will reach 3 - 6 meters in height. Will look great in a tropical style garden. Grows well in full sun or shade. It can also be grown as an indoor plant and has been shown to effectively remove gaseous formaldehyde from indoor air. Please note a Fatsia Japonica is toxic to pets if consumed.
