Reliable & easy to grow - Large pink summer flowering shrub - Suitable for flower beds, pots & rockeries or hedges. - Change flower colour by adjusting soil PH level
Hydrangea 'So Long Rosy' is an easy flowering shrub with large pink summer flowers, grown peat-free in Wales.
Hydrangea Macrophylla is by far the most widely grown variety. Hydrangea flowers can switch between pink and blue from one year to the next, depending on how acidic your soil is. Mixing in things like used coffee grounds or citrus peel makes the soil more acidic, which turns the flowers blue. Grows well in full sun or part shade, in most soil types, preferably sheltered from the wind. Max height 1.2 meters. Prune back after flowers have faded. Remove deadheads. Also makes a great cut flower. Please note this plant is toxic to pets and humans if consumed.
