Also known as Sambucus Nigra. Elderberry is a deciduous shrub or tree growing up to 4 meters high and wide. The European black elderberry produces umbels of soft pink fragrant flowers in the summer followed by dark purple edible berries in the autumn. The berries can be used to make wine, jam and syrup. Grows up to 3 meters high and 2 meters wide. Will attract birds and butterflies.
