A productive day at the secret garden!
So if you don't know already the wonderful place we grow our plants we call The Secret Garden. What's so secret about it might you ask ? Well it's tucked away behind a farm at the back of beyond. And very few people know where it is or get to visit the secret garden due to it being closed to the public and on private land.
Based just outside Cardiff overlooking the welsh countryside and Cardiff Airport. It's not just a work place, but a happy place.
Especially days like today the sun was shining and it was very peaceful.
This morning we made a start pruning some of the shrubs back ready, before the cold weather kicks in. Then its race against the clock began to get the spring bulbs in ready for next year. A lot have already began growing. And we still have a lot to do over the following days.
We also discovered that a thief had been stealing some of our spring bulbs and had left a trail behind. We suspect it's the squirrels. I guess drastic times call for drastic measures. Chicken wire is in the pipeline!
Also today our good friend Kin came all the way from London and has been offering his support behind the scenes. He even built a weeding stool from the scrap materials he found in the shelter. Not quite a professional carpenter but not bad for a DIY off grid project.
Until next time happy gardening!
