Summer yellow flowering - Autumn Berries - Easy to grow - Medicinal use.
Native to Great Britain, also known as Sweet Amber and Tustan. St john's wort is a semi evergreen shrub that produces an abundance of yellow flowers in the early summer, followed by red berries which turn dark purple in the Autumn and is usually grown as an ornamental or hedging plant. The elliptic entire smooth edged leaves will grow thick and bushy, bright green in colour which will turn slightly red over the autumn and winter months.
Hypericum plants will attract pollinating bugs and birds. Grows up to 90 cm tall, is easy to grow and does really well in moist soil, but will also tolerate drought. Please note this plant is toxic to livestock and humans if consumed. Can also been grown for medicinal use.
