Also known as Rose multiflora, Seven sister rose, Baby Rose and Japanese Rose. Native to China, Asia, Japan and Korea. A wild Rambling Rose that can reach heights of 5 meters. Mulitflora is grown as an ornamental plant that produces mat dark green abtuse serrating leaves and an abundance of small white single plain petals flowers during summer followed with large round rose hips in Autumn. The rose hips are edible and can be eaten raw, like berries, if care is taken to avoid the hairs inside the fruit. The hairs are used as itching powder. Multiflora plant is considered excellent fodder for goats and will attract birds and pollinating insects. Please note this plant is prickly.
Multiflora rose (Rosa multiflora) is a highly adaptable, climbing rose that thrives in full sun to partial shade, typically requiring well drained, fertile or loamy soil. It will establish quickly in moist areas. However once the plant is estabished it will tolorate most areas.

Suitable for flower beds, borders, pots or as wall/fence cover or with a trellis, steak or obelisk. Prefers sunny or part shade position.
To keep your plant healthy it will requrie regular deadheading throughout the flowering season and any faded or spotted leaves should be removed. Fresh multch should be added twice a year to keep leaves healthy. This plant will also need hard pruning early spring and shaping throughout the growing season. If you are planting next to wall or fence, allow at least a 12inch gap for space for the roots to grow. If planting in a pot you will need a deep pot for the roots.
